This is Pastor Tim's Ash Wednesday sermon.  In it, we learn his thoughts on why we burn last years palms from Palm Sunday for the ashes for Ash Wednesday.  In addition, he talks about all the places we put our hope and how they ultimately fail.  Gospel Reading: Matthew 6:1-6, 16-21.

Today we welcome Pastor George to Holy Trinity as our supply Pastor, filling in for Pastor Tim. Pastor George was Holy Trinity’s interim Pastor from late 2015 – 2017.

Sixth Sunday after Epiphany sermon. Gospel Reading: Matthew 5:21-37.

In the sermon this week, Pastor Tim talks about how we have a tendency to manipulate systems for our benefit. He continues by using the TV show "The Good Place" to explain how we use other people as objects, and even good deeds can be done out of the wrong motivation. A phrase to remember is that "God is not a rule follower, but God is a love follower."

Fifth Sunday after Epiphany. This week's sermon, the scripture comes from Matthew 5:13-20. We here words of Jesus that directly follow from last week, The Beatitudes (Blessed are they who...). Here, Pastor Tim talks about the busyness of our lives and how the church, instead of giving us one more thing to do, should instead, help us decide what we do. We can live our faith in more powerful ways than simply coming to church during the week for programming, but rather we should look at what we are already doing and learn how to do it in more faith-based ways.

The scripture for this week is Micah 6:8 (What does the Lord require of you but to do justice, love kindness and walk humbly with your God) and Matthew 5:1-10 (The Beatitudes). Pastor Tim talks about all the free-floating anxiety in the world today and the big events that are about to occur this week in America. He then continues to discuss how to interpret all of these events through the lens of these two scriptures.

Third Sunday after Epiphany sermon. Gospel Reading: Matthew 4:12-23.

In Sunday's sermon, Pastor Tim focused on the echoes of biblical stories that we might here when other biblical stories are read and then how do we here echoes of our own life story as well. What is the story that governs our life? Love? Fear? Greed? Anger? Hope?

Second Sunday of Christmas sermon. Gospel Reading: John 1:1-18

On the Second Sunday of Christmas, Pastor Tim talks about the three different meanings of "Word of God" and how we can distinguish or discern what is God's Word. It's a lot more interesting than that last sentence makes it sound. :)
